Ed began his Wendy’s career more than 36 years ago as a manager trainee and held positions as a General Manager, District Manager, Area Director and Franchise Area Director before becoming a franchisee in 1989. He currently operates 20 Wendy's restaurants with his son, Eddie Anderson, Jr., in Newport News, VA.

Ed was a member of the core team that created QSCC and served as Chairman of the Board for its first three years. He currently serves as Secretary and chairs the Audit and Budget committee.

Ed serves on Wendy's Franchise Advisory Council (FAC) and chairs its Next Generation subcommittee. He also is the President of the Designated Marketing Area (DMA) for Norfolk-Virginia Beach restaurants.

He won the Wendy Award - awarded to the franchise in each region that excels in all areas of their business - in 1999. Ed was also named Employer of Choice for his commitment to his employees and their development in 2000. In 2010, Ed was inducted into Wendy's Hall of Fame - the highest honor in the Wendy's system. It recognizes significant achievements in support of the Wendy's system for company or franchise employees with a minimum of 10 years of service. 

Ed keeps Dave Thomas’ adoption dream alive and has sponsored The Colonial Golf Classic for thirteen years to help raise funds to support children. He is also committed to the growth and education of community youth by supporting Wendy’s High School Heisman program, hosting the Wendy’s High School Heisman Banquet for the State of Virginia in one of his Wendy's restaurants.

Ed grew up in Manalapan, New Jersey and graduated from Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina where he met his wife Judy. Ed and Judy have three wonderful sons, Eddie, Jeff and Joey. Eddie serves as Wen-GAP’s Operating Partner. Jeff graduated from Florida Southern with a business degree in 2010 and joined the company in 2015. Joey graduated from VCU with a Communications degree.
